10STRINGING THE FRAMEString Clamp OperationThe string clamps are a dual action designwhere the string clamp and clamp base oper-ate independently of one another. To clamp a string, lift the string clamp, placethe string between the jaws and depress thestring clamp lever to secure the string. Theclamping pressure applied to the string shouldbe adjusted to provide sufficient pressureto secure the string when subjected to thedesired pulling tension. The diamond coatedgripper plates provide for increased frictionbetween the clamps and the string to allowfor reduced clamping pressure while securing and holding the string under tension.Clamping the First Main StringTo begin stringing the main strings, threadthe two ends of the string through the twocenter holes at the appropriate end of theframe and continue through the oppositecenter holes. Thread one end of the stringthrough the adjacent grommet hole and pullexcess by hand.Secure one of the strings using a string clamp.Clamp Base OperationTo lock the string clamp base to the turntable, rotate the clamp base locking lever clockwise. To release the string clamp base from theturntable, rotate the clamp base locking levercounter-clockwise.The locking lever should be tightened enoughto prevent clamp base slippage on the turn-table when the desired tension is placed onthe string.
