Stainless steel air baffles are anchored to the bottom of the burners with cotter pins. Seesection “4 Unit Configuration”.Air Baffles under the burner direct heat upward for efficiency. Note that the left, right, and middlesecondary baffles are all shaped differently. When ordering new parts, please refer to the HEEGMparts list for details (see “8 Related Documents”).Each cast-iron burner is individually controlled by a manual High-Low Gas Valve, with NO OFFposition.6.5.1 Burner BTU OutputEach cast-iron burner outputs:• 14,500BTU for natural gas.• 13,000BTU for propane gas.6.5.2 Removing, Installing Burners and Radiants• Each burner is supported at the front by the injector (orifice)on the manual hi-low gas valve.• Each burner is also supported by a rear bracket, andlocked in place with a cotter pin. Remove these pins beforeattempting to remove the burners.i IMPORTANT (INSTALL PIN)To ensure burners don’t tilt during operation, re-installthe cotter pins at the back of the burners.Top View1 12 2• The burners and baffles are packed tightly together. Beforeremoving the burners on the far left or far right of the unit( 1 ), you will need to first remove the burners next to them( 2 ). Reassemble in the reverse order.• Proper installation of the radiants is important.i IMPORTANT (RADIANT)When replacing the radiants, makesure the feet of the radiants are sittingproperly, as shown, on the Front andBack burner/radiant brackets.
