When the PAKey is selected on the Audio Panel, the COM MIC Annunciator is extinguished, and the active COM frequencychanges to white, indicating that there is no COM selected. A Push-to-Talk (PTT) must be pressed to deliver PAannouncements. The PA Annunciator flashes about once per second while the PTT is depressed.Figure 4-44 PA Key Selected for Cabin AnnouncementsPA Key is Selected onthe Audio PanelCLEARANCE RECORDER AND PLAYERThe Audio Panel contains a digital clearance recorder that records up to 2.5 minutes of the selected COMradio signal. Recorded COM audio is stored in separate memory blocks. Once 2.5 minutes of recording timehave been reached, the recorder begins recording over the stored memory blocks, starting from the oldestblock.The PLAY Key controls the play function. Pressing the PLAY Key once plays the latest recorded memoryblock. The PLAY Annunciator flashes to indicate when play is in progress. The PLAY Annunciator turns offafter the present memory block has finished playing.Pressing the MKR/MUTE Key during play of a memory block stops play. If a COM input signal is detectedduring play of a recorded memory block, play is halted.Pressing the PLAY Key while audio is playing begins playing the previously recorded memory block.
