Press and quickly release the POWeR key.2. Press the ROCKeR key UP to increasethe brightness or DOWN to decrease thebrightness.3. Press the ROCKeR key RIGHT to increase thecontrast or LEFT to decrease the contrast3. Press eNTeR or QUIT to close the Backlight/Contrast adjustment window.Selecting and entering DataAs we progress through this Owner’s Manual you willoften be directed to press a specified Interface key orhighlight a field. When you are directed to press a key,you should press, then release the key. If the key needsto be held down for a period of time, the instructionswill tell you. The position of the highlight is controlledby the ROCKER key. When a field is highlighted, adark strip encompasses the field.Simulator ModeThe Simulator Mode is great for practicing with theunit while inside and satellite signals are not available.When the GPSMAP 76 is in Simulator Mode, the GPSreceiver is turned off, conserving battery power. Theunit cannot be used for actual navigation.NOTE: Do not try to navigate in Simulator Mode.While in the Simulator Mode, the GPS receiver isturned off.
