190-01499-02 GTX 3x5 TSO Installation ManualRev. 1 Page 3-103.10 Cabling and WiringWiring should be installed in accordance with AC 43.13-1B Chapter 11, Sections 8 through 13. Thefollowing issues should be addressed:• It should not be possible for the cable harness to be exposed to wire chafing.• The cable harness should not be located near flight control cables, high capacity electrical lines(e.g., DC electric motor cables), or fuel lines.• Do not route cable near high energy sources (e.g., DC motors, high heat sources).• Wiring which is required to be shielded per the interconnect diagrams in Appendix D must beshielded.• Shield pigtail lengths must be less than 3.0 inches.3.11 Shielding and Electrical Bonding ConsiderationsElectrical equipment, supporting brackets, and racks should be electrically bonded to the aircraft’s mainstructure. Refer to SAE ARP 1870 Section 5 when surface preparation is required to achieve an electricalbond. The electrical bond should achieve a DC resistance less than or equal to 2.5 milliohms to localstructure where the equipment is mounted. Compliance should be verified by inspection using a calibratedmilliohm meter.3.12 Cooling Requirements and ConsiderationsThe GTX 3x5 has no cooling requirements or considerations. The GTX 335 and GTX 345 include a cooling fan. The fan is mounted on the rear of the unit with acooling port on the left side of the unit. Ensure there are no obstructions to the air inlet or exhaust. Theshould be at least ?? inches of clearance for both inlet and exhaust ports.3.13 Mounting Requirements
