Exercise caution when installing the rack in the instrument panel.Deformation of the rack may make it difficult to install and remove the GTX 3x5.2. Install the rack in the aircraft panel using six #6-32 flat head screws and self locking nuts. Thescrews are inserted from the inside through holes in the sides of the rack.3. To attach the backplate to the rack, align the backplate so that the backplate screw heads passthrough the keyed holes in the back of the rack.4. Slide the backplate to the left (viewing from the front of the unit) until it clicks into place. Securethe backplate by tightening the four #4-40 screws.4.5.2 Unit Insertion and RemovalNOTEPrior to placing the unit in the rack, in order to ensure correct position of the retentionmechanism, it may be necessary to insert the hex drive tool into the access hole and turnthe drive tool counterclockwise until it completely stops.CAUTIONThe application of hex drive tool torque exceeding 15 in-lbs can damage the lockingmechanism.Insertion1. The GTX 3x5 unit is installed in the rack by sliding it straight in until it stops, approximately3/8 inch short of the final position.2. Insert a 3/32" hex drive tool into the access hole at the bottom of the unit face.3. Turn the hex tool clockwise while pressing on the left side of the bezel until the unit is seated in therackRemoval1. Insert the hex drive tool into the access hole on the unit face.2. Turn hex drive tool counterclockwise until the hex drive tool stops.3.
