When enabled(GPS set to Normal and WAAS set to Enabled throughthe System Setup Page; also the interface must be setto something other than RTCM mode), this featuresearches for WAAS satellites near your location andthen receives data for correcting differentials in theGPS satellite signals. WAAS satellite numbers begin atnumber 33 or above and are displayed on the SatellitePage. When differential correction data has been receivedfor GPS satellites (numbers 32 or below), a D displaysin the signal bar. It is helpful to orient the unit antennatoward the WAAS satellite shown in the skyview. Tolearn more about the WAAS System, refer to the FederalAviation Administration Website (http://gps.faa.gov/).Because the Rino 110 relies onsatellite signals to provide youwith navigational guidance, the unit’s view of the skydetermines how fast you achieve navigational status. GPSsignals do not travel through heavy objects or people: Forbest results, keep the unit in clear view of the sky.Satellite StrengthAt least three satellite signals are needed to determineyour location; otherwise the unit displays a “PoorSatellite Reception” message with four options:Use with GPS Off—select this option if you wantGPS off.New Location—select this option if you have movedmore than 600 miles (from where you last used the unit).Restart Search—select this option if today is not dateprovided.Continue Acquiring—select this option if no otheroption applies.
