Lift the boom just enough toremove the weight from the pads and allow thepad to be replaced.3 Remove the wear pad mounting fasteners andremove the wear pads from the boom.4 Lubricate the wear surface of the new pads withmultipurpose grease.5 Install the new wear pads. Install and securelytighten the fasteners.How to Replace the Boom Rollers(if equipped)1 Extend the boom approximately half way out.2 Attach a lifting strap from an overhead crane tothe fork end of the boom. Lift the boom justenough to remove the weight from the lowerrollers.3 Remove the fasteners securing the boom rollerpivot pin to the boom.4 Use a soft metal drift to remove the pivot pin.Remove and replace the boom rollers.Crushing hazard. The boom rollerscould fall if not secured when thepivot pin is removed from theboom.Note: Note the quantity and location of the thrustwashers when removing the boom rollers.How to Remove the Lifting ForkFrame1 With the boom in the stowed position, attach alifting strap from an overhead crane to the topof the lifting fork frame at the front of the boom.Support the frame. Do not apply any liftingpressure.2 Remove the fasteners securing the fork levelcylinder pivot pin to the lifting fork.3 Use a soft metal drift to remove the pivot pin.4 Remove the fasteners securing the fork framepivot pin to the boom.5 Use a soft metal drift to remove the pivot pin.Crushing hazard. The fork framecould fall if not properly supportedwhen the pivot pin is removedfrom the machine.6 Remove the fork frame from the boom.
