6 Genie TMZ-34/19 Part No. 97866Operator's Manual Fourth Edition • First PrintingSAFETY RULESPersonnel Lifting ConfigurationTip-over HazardsDo not use the platform as a crane.Do not place loads outside the platform perimeter.Do not place or attach overhanging loads to anypart of the platform.Do not push off or pulltoward any objectoutside of the platform.Maximum allowableside force -90 lbs / 400 NDo not use the platform controls to free a platformthat is caught, snagged or otherwise preventedfrom normal motion by an adjacent structure. Allpersonnel must be removed from the platformbefore attempting to free the platform using theground controls.Fall HazardsOccupants must wear asafety belt or harness andcomply with applicablegovernmental regulations.Attach the lanyard to theanchor provided in theplatform.Lower the platform entry mid-rail or close the entrygate before operating.Do not sit, stand or climb on the platform guardrails. Maintain a firm footing on the platform floor atall times.Do not climb down from the platform when raised.Keep the platform floor clear of debris.Collision HazardBe aware of crushing hazards when grasping theplatform guard rail.Material Lifting ConfigurationCollision HazardsDo not raise the load unless the material liftinghook is properly secured to the machine.Do not raise unless the load is properly balancedand secured to the machine.Do not stand under or allow personnel under theload or the machine when the load is raised.Crushing HazardUse common sense and planning when operatingthe machine with the platform controls from theground. Maintain safe distances between theoperator, the machine and fixed objects.
