TheTPM is a component on your tablet PC’s mainboard that is specificallydesigned to enhance platform security above-and-beyond thecapabilities of today’s software by providing a protected space for keyoperations and other security critical tasks. Using both hardware andsoftware, TPM protects encryption and signature keys at their mostvulnerable stages – operations when the keys are being usedunencrypted in plain-text form. TPM is specifically designed to shieldunencrypted keys and platform authentication information fromsoftware-based attacks.TPM Support enables or disables TPM support (see chapter 6 for details).Current TPM State shows the current TPM state.Change TPM State allows you to select between No Change, Clear,Deactivate & Disable, and Enable & Activate.
