Operation Manual – DLDPH3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 1 DLDP Configuration1-71.2.3 DLDP TimersTable 1-6 DLDP timersTimer DescriptionAdvertisementsending timerInterval between sending advertisement packets, which can beconfigured on a command line interface.By default, the timer length is 5 seconds.Probe sendingtimerThe interval is 0.5 seconds. In the probe state, DLDP sends twoprobe packets in a second.Echo waitingtimerIt is enabled when DLDP enters the probe state. The echo waitingtimer length is 10 seconds. If no echo packet is received from the neighbor when the Echowaiting timer expires, the state of the local end is set tounidirectional link (one-way audio) and the state machine turnsinto the disable state. DLDP outputs log and tracking information, sends flush packets. Depending on the user-defined DLDP downmode, DLDP disables the local port automatically or prompts youto disable the port manually. At the same time, DLDP deletes theneighbor entry.Entry agingtimerWhen a new neighbor joins, a neighbor entry is created and thecorresponding entry aging timer is enabledWhen an advertisement packet is received from a neighbor, theneighbor entry is updated and the corresponding entry agingtimer is updatedIn the normal mode, if no packet is received from the neighborwhen the entry aging timer expires, DLDP sends anadvertisement packet with an RSY tag, and deletes the neighborentry. In the enhanced mode, if no packet is received from the neighborwhen the entry aging timer expires, DLDP enables the enhancedtimerThe entry aging timer length is three times the advertisementtimer length.Enhanced timerIn the enhanced mode, if no packet is received from the neighborwhen the entry aging timer expires, DLDP enables the enhancedtimer for the neighbor. The enhanced timer length is 10 secondsThe enhanced timer then sends one probe packet every secondand eight packets successively to the neighbor. If no echo packet is received from the neighbor when theenhanced timer expires, the state of the local end is set tounidirectional communication state and the state machine turnsinto the disable state. DLDP outputs log and tracking informationand sends flush packets. Depending on the user-defined DLDPdown mode, DLDP disables the local port automatically orprompts you to disable the port manually. Meanwhile, DLDPdeletes the neighbor entry.
