Operation Manual – DLDPH3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 1 DLDP Configuration1-8Timer DescriptionDelayDowntimerWhen a device in the active, advertisement, or probe DLDP statereceives a port down message, it does not removes thecorresponding neighbor immediately, neither does it changes tothe inactive state. Instead, it changes to the delaydown state first. When a device changes to the delaydown state, the related DLDPneighbor information remains, and the DelayDown timer istriggered. The DelayDown timer is configurable and ranges from1 to 5 seconds.A device in the delaydown state only responds to port upmessages.A device in the delaydown state resumes its original DLDP state ifit receives a port up message before the delaydown timer expires.Otherwise, it removes the DLDP neighbor information andchanges to the inactive state.1.2.4 DLDP Operating ModeDLDP can operate in two modes: normal and enhanced.Table 1-7 DLDP operating mode and neighbor entry agingDLDPoperatingmodeDLDP detects whetherneighbors exist or notwhen neighbor tablesare agingThe entry agingtimer is enabled ornot during neighborentry agingThe enhancedtimer is enabledor not when theentry aging timerexpiresNormalmode NoYes (The neighborentry ages out afterthe entry aging timerexpires)NoEnhancedmode YesYes (The enhancedtimer is enabled afterthe entry aging timerexpires)Yes (When theenhanced timerexpires, the stateof the local end isset tounidirectional link, and the neighborentry is aged out.)1.2.5 DLDP Neighbor StateA DLDP neighbor can be in one of these two states: two way and unknown. You cancheck the state of a DLDP neighbor by using the display dldp command.
