24The installing and removing procedures are the same for the LSVM1S9800FAN andLSVM2S9800FAN fan trays.To install an LSVM1S9800FAN/LSVM2S9800FAN fan tray:1. Wear an ESD wrist strap, and make sure it makes good skin contact and is reliably grounded.2. Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the captive screws on the filler panel in the fan tray slot.3. Thread a flat-blade screwdriver through the handle on the filler panel and pull out the filler panelgently.Keep the filler panel secure for future use.4. Unpack the fan tray and verify that the fan tray model is correct.5. Holding the fan tray with both hands with the upside (marked with a "TOP" sign) up, gently pushthe fan tray into the slot along the guide rails until the fan tray completely seats into the slot. Seecallout 1 in Figure 30.To prevent damage to the fan tray or the connectors on the backplane, insert the fan tray gently.If you encounter resistance while inserting the fan tray, pull out the fan tray and insert it again.6. Use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the captive screws on the fan tray to make sure the fan trayfully seats into the slot. If two switching fabric modules are installed, two fan traysare required.• Make sure the airflow direction of the fan tray meets the ventilation requirement at theinstallation site.12222
