Unlock the hood (Fig. 15/5) using asquare wrench and open the hood(Fig. 15/5).Ensure the engine hasstopped before opening thehood. Risk of injury throughbelt drive and rotating fan!2. Take hold of the battery (Fig. 15/6)by their handles (Fig. 15/7) andinstall them at their prescribedpositions in the machine, refer toFigure 15.3. Secure the battery using theretaining straps.4. Connect the battery (Fig. 15/6) inaccordance with the connectiondiagram (Fig. 15/4).5. Connect the positive cable of themachine to the battery (Fig. 15/6)installed in the machine.6. Connect the negative cable of themachine to the battery (Fig. 15/6)installed in the machine, refer toSection 2.1.4.Sparks could be producedwhen connecting the battery!7. Close the hood (Fig. 15/5) so that itaudibly locks.5.5.6 Disposing of batteriesUsed batteries with the recyclingsymbol contain reusable commodities.However, the heavy metals containedalso represent a major risk to humanhealth and to the environment. Neveropen or damage batteries. Never touch,inhale or swallow the content matter ofbatteries. Health hazard! Do not allowbatteries to pollute the environment.There is a risk of contaminating theground and water! In accordance withthe symbol with the crossed out bin,these batteries must not be disposed ofin domestic waste. The return andrecycling of old batteries must beagreed on with the authorized Hakodealer in accordance with the BatteryAct§ 6and§ 8.
