4-15 - DASH / AUTOSECTION 4 – ENGINE AND DRIVE SYSTEMSENGINE - STARTINGNOTE: An Insufficient Cab Air PressureIndicator will appear on the MachineDisplay Home Page - Road or FieldMode each time the machine isstarted, due to a slight activationdelay of the RESPA® Cab FiltrationSystem. The indicator will disappearonce the cab becomes pressurized.Pre-Operational Checklist1. Check engine oil level.NOTE: Do not operate the machine when oillevel is below the “L” (low) mark orabove the “H” (high) mark on theengine oil dipstick.2. Check coolant level.3. Check diesel exhaust fluid level (FinalTier 4 engines only).4. Check hydraulic reservoir oil level.5. Check cooling air intake screen.6. Drain fuel/water separator.7. Check engine drive belt.8. Drain water out of the air tank.9. Check for any oil or fuel leaks.Cold Start Procedure1. Engage the parking brake.NOTE: Refer to “Hydrostatic Drive” providedelsewhere in this section for furtherinformation.2. Turn the Ignition ON, but DO NOTengage the starter. (Wait for the GridHeater ON indicator to disappear onthe Machine Display).The following warning message willappear on the Machine Display duringcold weather conditions. Press OK(acknowledging that you understand theengine requires a warm-up period beforeengaging the starter).NOTE: Ensure that there are no otherwarnings before proceeding.3. Engage the starter.(If the engine fails to start after 15 sec-onds, turn the key OFF, wait one min-ute, and repeat the procedure. If theengine does not start after threeattempts, check the fuel supply sys-tem).CAUTIONStart engine from the operator’s seatonly.
