Operating InstructionsBEFORE FIRST USE: Wash the cooking surfaces of the panini press asinstructed under “Cleaning.”1. Plug into a 120-volt AC outlet.2. Preheat panini press for 6 minutes.The red light comes on and remainslit as long as the panini press isplugged into an outlet. Once the unithas reached the proper temperature,the green light will come on. Keepcover closed.3. When preheated, raise cover. Placefood to be cooked onto cookingsurface and lower cover to desiredheight. Lock the cover at the desiredheight by turning the locking knob,if desired.WARNING! Burn Hazard. Exteriorbecomes hot. Use an oven mittwhen cooking.4. Unlock the cover; then use an ovenmitt andcarefully liftcover andcheck foodto see ifcooked todesireddoneness.Do not cutfood on nonstick cooking surface.If additional cooking time is needed,lower cover.5. When food is cooked to desireddoneness, remove the food andunplug the panini press. Let coolbefore cleaning.4Panini Press Tips• ALWAYS PREHEAT THEPANINI PRESS 6 MINUTESBEFORE USING.• Read the Use and Care Guidebefore using the panini press.• Use vegetable cooking spray forconvenient, stick-free cooking. Or ifyou prefer, brush cooking surfaceswith vegetable oil before preheating.• Use plastic utensils on the nonstickcooking surfaces. Do not use metalutensils since they will damage thenonstick surface.• Thicker sandwiches may shift whenbeing pressed. Use a plastic spatulato reposition. Place sandwich incenter of press.• When a recipe calls for fruit, lockthe cover in place above the fruit sothat it heats but does not contactthe fruit.• There is no need to press down onthe handle. The weight of the coverwill grill the top of the sandwich.• Cleanup is easy! Let panini presscool down. Wipe cooking surfaceswith damp paper towel or dishcloth.• Do not latch the storage latch withanything between the grids—thiscould break the storage latch.
