HAMWORTHY HEATING LTD19SPETISBURY 500001118/C10.6 BURNER CONTROL AND ADJUSTMENT10.6.1 Fan SpeedsThe fan speeds for the Spetisbury range of burnerare pre-set and should not require adjustment.Although max/min speeds can be adjusted ifrequired, adjustment of the ignition speed is notrecommended as this may affect the reliability ofoperation.10.6.2 Starting UpAS WITH ALL FORCED DRAUGHT BURNERSYSTEMS THE SPETISBURY SP PREMIXBURNER MUST BE SET UP CORRECTLY TOENSURE SATISFACTORY AND RELIABLEOPERATIONNote: The air pressure switch on this burner isfactory set and should not require adjustment.Before attempting to light the burner for the firsttime, suitably competent personnel should inspectthe installation to ensure the following;a) That all electrical safety circuits are made andthe electrical installation has been carried outaccording to the instructions in this manual.b) There must be an adequate ground to theburner and the Live and Neutral should becorrectly connected.c) The gas pipe work is of a suitable size for theburner requirements and the installation hasbeen checked for leaks and fully purged.On turning on the burner the display should be asshow in Fig 10.22 below.Press the start button and after a few seconds theburner should start to pre-purge. Ignition willcommence and the fan will stay at ignition speed for10 seconds. The burner is pre-programmed with astep-control, so it will not reach maximum fan speedfor approximately 90 seconds.Once the burner has reached maximum fan speedcheck the CO 2 levels. These should be the same asshown in the table below:Fig 10.22 Burner Display PanelDrive the fan speed manually to the minimumsetting. This is done by pressing and holding downfor 3 seconds the hidden button below the ‘STATUS’figure at the same time as the ‘-’ (minus) button. SeeFig. 10.22 below. The ‘STATUS’ figure will nowshow;CO CO 2<10ppm 9.4%±0.2STATUSCheck for adequate flue gas temperature and CO2levels.
