Just ensure that baud rate on instrument (setup code 50) andon PC downloading program are set to the same value.During the data transfer the instrumentdisplays the message "r 232".To stop communication, press RANGE to display the reading (pH ormV or temperature) or take the meter out of the transmitter when itis not displaying "r232".Using the HI 9200 infrared transmitter, all recorded data can be fedto your PC for easy reproduction, storage or elaboration without theinterference of cables or cords between the meter and the transmitter.Data transmission from the instrument to the PC is now much easierwith new HI 92000 Windows® compatible software by HANNA.HI 92000 allows to use the powerful capabilities of most spread sheetprograms (e.g. Excel©, Lotus 1-2-3©). Simply open the file down-loaded by HI 92000 from the spread sheet program and then it ispossible to make any elaboration available with software (e.g.graphics, statistic analysis).HI 92000 offers a variety of features and is provided with an on-line-help to support the user throughout any situation.To install HI 92000 you need a 3.5" drive and a few minutes tofollow the instructions conveniently printed on the disk label.DATA TRANSFER TO PCThe meter checks if the time-out time hasexpired every time it is turned on. In thecase the time has run out, the message "Caldate" scrolls across the LCD. The "DATE" sym-bol will blink as a reminder.Alarm time-out is also signaled in the GLPdata printout through the "Dt" symbol afterthe calibration date.GLP AND RS232All the GLP data can be retrieved from a PC through the RS232communication feature. The calibration data are transferred to thecomputer along with measurement data for analysis and verification(see "Data transfer to PC" paragraph).HI 98230 and HI 98240 are factory programmed to automaticallydiagnose a fault and to display error codes on the LCD.PRINTER ERRORWhenever a printer fault condition is detected, the printer stops andthe message "Printer error" scrolls across the upper LCD with the errorcode (see below) fixed on the secondary one.1 = Motor locked2 = Printer clutch jammed3 = Selection lever faultI2C BUS ERRORIn case of an I2C bus fatal error due for example to a defectiveEEPROM or RTC, the message "Serial bus error" keeps scrolling acrossLCD from right to left indefinitely.
