Steam could getthrough cracks into live electrical com-ponents of the glass ceramic hob andcause short-circuiting.■ Allow the hob to cool completely beforecleaning.■ Do not use any harsh detergents, scour-ing agents, abrasive powder or steelsponges; they can damage the surface.■ Clean and maintain the hob regularlywith a special care product containing aspecial impregnating oil for glass ceram-ic hobs. Such products can be found inspecialist shops.Slight soiling which is not burnt on1. Switch the hob off.2. After it has cooled down, wipe light dirtwith a damp cloth.3. If necessary, use a suitable cleaner andwipe with clean water.4. Then dry the surface with a soft cloth toprevent lime stains.5. You can easily remove light stains havinga pearlescent colour (aluminium residues,such as from aluminium foil) using a com-mercially available detergent that is spe-cifically available for such cleaning.6. Vinegar is good for removing lime stains.Hard, baked-on dirt1. Stubborn stains are best removed usinga scraper after cooling. You can also findspecial cleaning agents in specializedshops.2. Finally, wipe the surface with a dampcloth.3.
