Within five seconds, press and hold the button onthe original remote that you wish to “teach” intothe AVR 525 remote. When the Program/SPLIndicator c turns green three times, releasethe button. The Program Indicator will then beginto flash amber again.NOTE: If the Program/SPL Indicator c turnsred during Step 5 or 6, the programming was notsuccessful. Repeat the steps to see whether thecode will “take.”6. Repeat Steps 4 though 6 for each button on thesource remote that you wish to transfer to theAVR 525 remote.7. Once all codes have been transferred from theoriginal source remote to the AVR 525 remote,press the Learn Button .8. Repeat Steps 1 through 7 for any additionalremotes you wish to “teach” into the AVR 525remote.Erasing Learned CodesThe AVR 525’s remote allows you to remove or erase,the code learned into a single button for a single device,to remove or erase the code set for all the codes thathave been programmed into specific device buttons, orto erase all commands that have been learned to alldevices.To erase a single learned code from within a singledevice’s settings, follow these steps:1. Press and hold both the Input Selector efg within which the individual button to be erasedhas been programmed and the Learn Button h.2. When the red LED under the Input Selector turnsred and the Program/SPL Indicator c flashesamber, release the buttons.3. Press and release the Input Selector efgagain for the device within which the individual buttonto be erased has been programmed.4. Press the 7 Button r four times.5. Press and release the individual button for which thecode is to be erased. The Program/SPL Indicatorc will blink green two times and then return toamber.6. To erase other buttons within the same device, pressthem as described in Step 5.7. When all buttons to be erased have been pressed,press the Learn Button to complete theprocess.To erase all codes within a single device, follow thesesteps:1. Press and hold both the Input Selectorefg for which you wish to erase the codesand the Learn Button .2. When the red LED under the Input Selector turnsred and the Program/SPL Indicator c flashesamber, release the buttons.3. The Program/SPL Indicator c will turn off andthe red light under the Input Selector will flash onand off once to indicate that the codes have beenerased.Macro ProgrammingMacros enable you to easily repeat frequently usedcombinations of commands with the press of a singlebutton on the AVR 525’s remote control. Once pro-grammed, a macro will send out up to 19 differentremote codes in a predetermined sequential orderenabling you to automate the process of turning onyour system, changing devices, or other commontasks. The AVR 525’s remote can store up to five sep-arate macro command sequences: one that isassociated with the Power On Button a and fourmore that are accessed by pressing the MacroButtons .1. Press the Mute Button and the MacroButton to be programmed or the Power OnButton a at the same time. An Input Selectorwill light red, and the Program/SPL Indicatorc will flash amber.2. Enter the steps for the macro sequence by press-ing the button for the actual command step.Although the macro may contain up to 19 steps,each button press, including those used to changedevices, counts as a step. The Program/SPLIndicator c will flash green to confirm eachbutton press as you enter commands.NOTE: While entering commands for Power On/Off ofany device during a macro sequence, press the MuteButton . DO NOT press the actual Power button.3. When all the steps have been entered, press theSleep Button j to enter the commands.
