TV MENU, AUX MENU, DIGITAL IN MENU 29TV MENU, AUX MENU, DIGITAL IN MENUTV MenuWhen the analog left/right audio outputs of a TV,set-top box, VCR, video game console or any otheraudio/video product are connected to the TV Inputson the rear panel, you may listen to that source byselecting the TV input on your HS 100 by following oneof these steps:1. If the HS 100 is in the Standby mode, press theTV Button on the remote to turn on the unitand go directly to the TV input.2. If the HS 100 is already on, press the TV Button on the remote to switch the input, or press theSource Button 6 on the front panel until the tuneris the active input.Since the HS 100 will only select the audio, alwaysremember to select the corresponding video inputon your display to view the video that corresponds tothe audio.The TV menu (viewable when your display is set tothe input for the HS 100) enables you to make theconfiguration settings for the TV input.Audio: This line lets you select the surround mode thatis used when the TV input is selected. To change thedefault mode, follow these steps:1. With the TV menu on your video display, press theM / N /K/L Navigation Buttons A as neededso that that the current surround mode to the right ofthe Audio line at the top of the menu is highlighted.2. Press the Enter Button P, and within five sec-onds press the M / N Navigation Buttons A sothat the desired surround mode is highlighted.3. Press the Enter Button P to set that mode asthe new default for the TV input.Level Adjustment: This line lets you increase ordecrease the input level for the TV input to compensatefor any variations that may be caused by the sourcedevice. In most cases you will not need to adjust thissetting, but if the audio level when the TV input isselected appears lower or higher than other sources,follow these steps to make an adjustment:1. With the TV menu on your video display, press theM / N /K/L Navigation Buttons A as neededso that the current Level Adjustment setting on thesecond line in the middle portion of the video displayis highlighted.2. Press the Enter Button P and within five sec-onds press the M / N Navigation Buttons A sothat the desired increase or decrease in the inputlevel is highlighted in the Options Description Lineé at the very bottom of the display screen.3. Press the Enter Button P to enter the new set-ting to the HS 100’s memory.AUX MenuIn addition to the built-in DVD/CD player, tuner and “TV”inputs, you may connect another analog audio input tothe HS 100 through the AUX Inputs on the rearpanel. To listen to that source, do one of the following:1. If the HS 100 is in the Standby mode, press theAUX Button on the remote to turn on the unitand go directly to the TV input.2. If the HS 100 is already on, press the AUX Button on the remote to switch the input, or press theSource Button 6 on the front panel until the tuneris the active input.The AUX menu allows you to make configuration set-tings for the AUX Inputs .Audio: This line lets you select the surround mode thatis used when the AUX input is selected. To change thedefault mode, follow these steps:1. With the TV menu on your video display, press theM / N /K/L Navigation Buttons A as neededso that that the current surround mode to the right ofthe Audio line at the top of the menu screen is high-lighted.2. Press the Enter Button P, and within five sec-onds press the M / N /K/L Navigation ButtonsA to highlight the desired surround mode.3. Press the Enter Button P to set that mode asthe new default for the TV input.Level Adjustment: This line lets you increase ordecrease the input level for the Aux input to compen-sate for any variations that may be caused by thesource device. Press the Enter Button P and within five sec-onds press the M / N Navigation Buttons A sothat the desired increase or decrease in the inputlevel is highlighted in the Options Description Lineé at the very bottom of the display screen.3. Press the Enter Button P to enter the new set-ting to the HS 100’s memory.Digital In MenuIn addition to all analog audio and video sources, theHS 100 also gives you the opportunity to connect twodigital audio sources, for instance a digital set-top boxor satellite receiver. Connect these sources to eitherthe coaxial or optical digital input connectors on therear panel.1. Press the On Button 0 or Digital In Button on the remote control to turn the DVD receiver on.Make sure that the Main Power Switch on the frontpanel is in the On position, shown by the blue LEDsurrounding the button. Also make sure that yourvideo monitor connected to the HS 100 isswitched on.2. Press the Digital In Button on the remotecontrol or Source Button 4 on the front panelrepeatedly to select one of the digital sources as theinput. The TV monitor will show the DIGITALIN menu, as shown below. You can also select theDIGITAL IN menu with the Arrow Keys9 on the remote control. Once the DIGITALIN tab is highlighted, press Enter Button 6to access it.Digital Input: This line selects which of the two digitalsources will be used when the Digital Input is selected.You may go to this menu at any time to switch betweenthe two digital sources.1. With the DIGITAL IN menu on your videodisplay, press the M / N /K/L NavigationButtons A as needed so that the current selec-tion to the right of the Digital Input line at the top ofthe menu screen is highlighted.2. Press the Enter Button P, and within fiveseconds press the M / N /K/L NavigationButtons A so that the desired input mode ishighlighted.
