LED Problem ActionSP The service processor has failed. Remove ac power from the server; then, reconnect the serverto ac power and restart the server.Update the firmware on the BMC.If a Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine is installed, updatethe firmware; if the problem remains, replace the adapter. If the problem remains, replace the system board (trainedservice technician only).DASD A hard disk drive error has occurred. Check the LEDs on the hard disk drives and replace theindicated drive. If the problem remains, replace the hard disk drive backplane.RAID A RAID controller error has occurred. Check the system error log for information about the error.FAN A fan has failed, is operating too slowly,or has been removed. The TEMP LEDmight also be lit.Replace the failing fan, which is indicated by a lit LED on thefan body.TEMP The system temperature has exceededa threshold level. A failing fan cancause the TEMP LED to be lit.v Determine whether a fan has failed. If it has, replace it.v Make sure that the room temperature is not too high. See“Features and specifications” on page 3 for temperatureinformation.v Make sure that the air vents are not blocked.BRD An error has occurred on the systemboard.v Check the LEDs on the system board to identify thecomponent that is causing the error.v Check the system error log for information about the error.PCI An error has occurred on a PCI bus oron the system board. An additional LEDwill be lit next to a failing PCI slot.v Check the LEDs on the PCI slots to identify the componentthat is causing the error.v Check the system error log for information about the error.v If you cannot isolate the failing adapter through the LEDsand the information in the system error log, remove oneadapter at a time from the failing PCI bus, and restart theserver after each adapter is removed. If the problem remains, replace the following components, inthe order shown, restarting the server each time:v PCI riser cardv (Trained service technician only) System boardPower-supply LEDsThe following minimum configuration is required for the DC LED on the powersupply to be lit:v Power supplyv Power backplanev Power cordThe following minimum configuration is required for the server to start:v One microprocessorv Two 512 MB DIMMs on the system boardv One power supplyv Power backplanev Power cordChapter 2.
