13Safety PrecautionsWARNING:The precautions outlined below should be strictly followed. Failure tofollow these precautions may result in permanent damage to theHTB-100-HM170 .General Safety PrecautionsPlease ensure the following safety precautions are adhered to at all times. To prevent the risk of electric shock, make sure power cord isunplugged from wall socket. To fully disengage the power to the unit,please disconnect the power cord from the ac outlet. Refer servicingto qualified service personnel. The AC outlet shall be readily availableand accessible. Users must not allow SIP/SOPs and the patient to come into contactat the same time. Grounding reliability can only be achieved when the equipment isconnected to an equivalent receptacle marked “Hospital Only” or“Hospital Grade”. Make sure the power is turned off and the power cord is disconnectedwhenever the HTB-100-HM170 is being installed, moved or modified. Do not apply voltage levels that exceed the specified voltage range.Doing so may cause fire and/or an electrical shock. Use a power cordthat matches the voltage of the power outlet, which has beenapproved and complies with the safety standard of your particularcountry. Accessory equipment connected to the analog and digital interfacesmust be in compliance with the respective nationally harmonized IECstandards (i.e. IEC 60601-1 for medical equipment.) Furthermore allconfigurations shall comply with the system standard in IEC 60601-1.Anyone who connects additional equipment to the signal input part orsignal output part is configuring a medical system, and is therefore,responsible that the system complies with the requirements of thesystem standard IEC 60601-1. The unit is for exclusiveinterconnection with IEC 60601-1 certified equipment in the patientenvironment and IEC 60XXX certified equipment outside of thepatient environment. The equipment should be installed near an easily accessible outlet.For pluggable equipment, the power outlet must be installed near theequipment and must be easily accessible.
