377. Maintenance● Inspect the spark plug after every 100 hours of use, andreplace it if it becomes difficult to start the engine.1. Pull the spark plug connector toward you to remove it.2. Insert the plug tool onto the spark plug and turn itcounterclockwise to remove the plug.3. Use a wire brush to remove the carbon (soot) from thespark plug.● If you have a gap gauge, adjust the electrodes so there is agap of 0.6 to 0.7mm between them.4. Return the spark plug to its original position, and turn it clockwise with the plug tool to tighten it. In-sert the spark plug connector until it stops.● If you replace the spark plug, replace it with a BPR2HS.● Perform the maintenance of the main clutch every 50 hours of use.1. Turn the installation knob on the front cover in thecounterclockwise direction to loosen it, and open thecover by lifting it upward with your hands.2. Move the main clutch lever to "Run", press the cutch disk to the engine side with your hands, and return themain clutch lever to the original position. (This procedure can be easily performed by using a clamp, etc.)3. Insert the flat-head screwdriver between the bearing installed in the clutch disk and the cam lever tomake a gap.4. Apply enough amount of thick spray grease (molybdenum) to the shaft inside the gap.5. Remove the flat-head screwdriver, and move the main clutch lever to "Start" position, then to "Stop"position, approximately 10 times in the same order.● If the clutch does not normally operate after performing the maintenance of the main clutch, it requires tooverhaul the clutch.Warning● Do not smoke or keep open flames nearbywhen inspecting/replacing the spark plug.Warning● Be sure to perform the maintenance of themain clutch after stopping the engine.● After stopping the engine, wait for the engineto cool down before performing the mainte -nance.● If the maintenance of the main clutch is notperformed, there is a possibility that the mowergoes out of control and cause severe injury.■ Inspecting and replacing spark plugs■ Maintenance of the main clutch
