13ENGLISHHow long is the IKEA guarantee valid?This guarantee is valid for five (5) yearsfrom the original date of purchase of yourappliance at IKEA, unless the applianceis named LAGAN or TILLREDA in whichcase two (2) year of guarantee apply. Theoriginal sales receipt, is required as proofof purchase. If service work is carried outunder guarantee, this will not extend theguarantee period for the appliance.Who will execute the service?Contact nearest IKEA store.What does this guarantee cover?The guarantee covers faults of theappliance, which have been caused by faultyconstruction or material faults from thedate of purchase from IKEA. This guaranteeapplies to domestic use only. The exceptionsare specified under the headline “What is notcovered under this guarantee?” Within theguarantee period, the costs to remedy thefault e.g. repairs, parts, labour and travelwill be covered, provided that the applianceis accessible for repair without specialexpenditure. Replaced parts become theproperty of IKEA.What will IKEA do to correct theproblem?IKEA will examine the product and decide, atits sole discretion, if it is covered under thisguarantee. If considered covered, IKEA willthen, at its sole discretion, either repair thedefective product or replace it with the sameor a comparable product.What is not covered under thisguarantee?• Normal wear and tear.• Deliberate or negligent damage, damagecaused by failure to observe operatinginstructions, incorrect installation or byconnection to the wrong voltage, damagecaused by chemical or electrochemicalreaction, rust, corrosion or waterdamage including but not limited todamage caused by excessive lime inthe water supply, damage caused byabnormal environmental conditions.• Consumable parts including batteries andlamps.• Non-functional and decorative partswhich do not affect normal use of theappliance, including any scratches andpossible colour differences.• Accidental damage caused by foreignobjects or substances and cleaning orunblocking of filters, drainage systems orsoap drawers.• Damage to the following parts: ceramicglass, accessories, crockery and cutlerybaskets, feed and drainage pipes, seals,lamps and lamp covers, screens, knobs,casings and parts of casings. Unless suchdamages can be proved to have beencaused by production faults.• Repairs not carried out by our appointedservice providers and/or an authorizedservice contractual partner or wherenon-original parts have been used.• Repairs caused by installation which isfaulty or not according to specification.• The use of the appliance in a non-domestic environment i.e. professionaluse.• Transportation damages. If a customertransports the product to his home oranother address, IKEA is not liable forany damage that may occur duringtransport. However, if IKEA deliversthe product to the customer’s deliveryaddress, then damage to the productthat occurs during this delivery will becovered by IKEA.• Cost for carrying out the initialinstallation of the IKEA appliance.However, if an IKEA appointed ServiceProvider or its authorized servicepartner repairs or replaces the applianceunder the terms of this guarantee,the appointed Service Provider or itsauthorized service partner will reinstallthe repaired appliance or install thereplacement, if necessary.How country law appliesThe IKEA guarantee gives you specific legalrights, which cover or exceed all the locallegal demands.
