Inorder to receive or send scrambled transmissions, you mustactivate the scrambler function. You also need to programthe scrambler code in the Menu screen. (p. 91)The scrambler function automatically turns OFF whenChannel 16 or 70 is selected.q Select an operating channel except Channel 16 or 70.w Push [SCBL] to turn the Voice Scrambler ON or OFF.• The “SBL” icon appears when the voice scrambler is ON.D Programming scrambler codesThere are 32 codes (1 to 32) available for programming. Setthe code in the Menu screen. In order to understand eachother, all transceivers in your group must have the samescramble code. See page 91 for scrambler code setting de-tails.Voice recorder function■This transceiver has an automatic recording function that canrecord the last 120 seconds of the receiving audio. You canplayback the audio that you could not hear clearly.Starts recording automaticallyin default when the signal is re-ceived.• The “REC” icon appears while re-cording.• Stops recording 3 seconds afterthe signal disappears.• Stops recording when the channelis changed.• The recorded voice data is erasedwhen the transceiver is turnedOFF.q Push [PLAY] to playback therecorded voice.• The “ ” icon appears whileplaying.w Push [STOP] to return to nor-mal operating screen.D Playback the recorded voice(Available when the scrambler unit is installed)Appears
