2810 BATTERY CASE■ BP-226 optional battery caseWhen using the optional battery case attached to the trans-ceiver, install 5 × AA (LR6) size alkaline batteries as il-lustrated at right. The BP-226 is constructed to the IPX4waterproof standard (IEC 60529, 2001).q Hook your finger under the latch, and open the cover in thedirection of the arrow (q). (Fig.1)w Then, install 5 × AA (LR6) size alkaline batteries. (Fig.2)• Install the alkaline batteries only.• Be sure to observe the correct polarity.• Be sure to pin the ribbon under the batteries. Leave enough ofthe ribbon ends extended, to pull when removing the batteries.e Close the cover with fitting in the direction of the arrow (w)first, then firm the latch in place (e). (Fig.1)• Be sure to the gasket and the ribbon are set correctly, and donot protrude out of the battery case. (Fig.3)CAUTION:• When installing batteries, make sure they are all thesame brand, type and capacity. Also, do not mix newand old batteries together.• Keep battery contacts clean.
