21INSTALLATIONisar + programmer - Installation and Servicing22 CONDENSATE DRAINRefer also to the British Gas document: 'Guidance Notes forthe Installation of Domestic Gas Condensing Boilers' (1989).Before mounting the boiler on the wall, the condensate drain(provided in the h/ware pack) must be connected from theboiler ‘S’ trap to a drainage point, preferably within thebuilding.Ensure that the condensate trap is full of water beforecommissioning the boiler . Refer to Frame 26.The routing of the drain must be made to allow a minimumfall of 1 in 20 away from the boiler, throughout its length. The drainage pipework must be arranged so that obstruction(e.g. through freezing) of external drainage pipe does not giverise to spillage within the dwelling.IMPORTANT.If excessive external pipework cannot be avoided anadditional siphon kit and insulation are recommended toprevent possible freezing. All pipework and fittings in the condensate drain systemmust be made of plastic. No other materials may be used. The drain outlet on the boiler is standard 21.5mm overflowpipe. This size must not be reduced in any part of its length.BOILERcla7771 75mm trapSink constitutesair breakDRAINGround LevelOpen end of pipedirect into gulleybelow grating butabove water levelBOILERcla7772 75mm trapDRAINSinkGround LevelOpen end of pipedirect into gulleybelow grating butabove water level1.
