1400 ARRAY ASSEMBLYDue to the weight of the1400 Array horn module, itis packed separately fromthe low-frequency enclosure. It is a very simple procedureto install the module, and thenecessary instructions arelisted below. The requiredAllen-tipped screw driver isincluded in the accessorypack.1. Carefully remove the hornmodule from the packagingand place it face down on asoft surface.2. Locate the cardboardaccessory sleeve andremove the hardware.3. The accessory sleeveshould contain:a. 2 Long 1/4" x 20 Allen-head boltsb. 1 Short 1/4" x 20 Allen-head boltc. 1 Logo plated. 1 Rubber hole pluge. 4 Metal coasters(to protect wood and tilefloors from the spike feet)4. Carefully unpack the low-frequency enclosure andplace it upright. It would behelpful to position it near itsfinal position in the roomsince it is much easier tomove without the additionalweight of the horn module.5. Notice the two threadedinserts on the angled faceof the top and also the smallL-bracket on the top. Theseare the attachment pointsfor the horn module. Imme-diately adjacent to the L-bracket is a recessed con-nector which will make theelectrical connection for thehorn module.6. Although the module canbe installed by one person,it is easier if a second setof hands are available.7. Cradle the horn module withthe opening along your fore-arm and, using your freehand, connect the plugcoming from the bottom ofthe horn assembly into thejack on the top of theenclosure.8. You can now place the hornin position on top of theenclosure. The L-bracketfits in an opening under thehorn assembly. The modulewill sit on top of the enclo-sure by itself, although itshould always be steadieduntil fully mounted.9. Line up the two mountingholes on the lower lip of thefront of the horn with thosein the enclosure. Partiallyinstall one long bolt andthen the other one. It maybe necessary to lift the hornslightly so that the boltsinstall smoothly. Do notforce or cross-thread them.10. Once both bolts have beenstarted, work them in all ofthe way, but do not tightenthem securely just yet.11. Install the remaining shortbolt in the hole at thebottom rear of the hornmodule. You can fullytighten this bolt.12. Now completely tighten thetwo front bolts.13. Everything should be tightand properly aligned at thistime. If not, loosen, realign, and retighten as required.14. The final steps are toremove the backing fromthe logo badge and place itin the recess on the lowerhorn lip, and to use therubber hole plug to hide thehole at the bottom rear ofthe horn module. Do notcomplete these steps untilthe system has been turnedon and tested acoustically.Make sure the horn moduleis playing first. Once thelogo badge and rubberplug hole are installed, itis extremely difficult toremove them.6
