7SPEAKER CONNECTIONSSeparate and strip the ends ofthe speaker wire as shown.Speakers and amplifiers/receivers have corresponding(+) and (–) terminals. The (+)lead of the speaker wire isnoted with a stripe. It is impor-tant to connect all the speakersidentically: (+) on the speakerto (+) on the amplifier and (–) onthe speaker to (–) on the ampli-fier. Wiring “out of phase”results in thin sound, weakbass and a poor stereo image.Use Speaker-level connectiononly if your surround receiverdoes not have line-level sub-woofer or LFE outputs. If a line-level connection is available,go to the next page.For speaker-level connection,connect loudspeaker cablefrom the front left and rightloudspeaker outputs of yourConnection TipsSpeaker Levelamplifier/receiver to the corre-sponding left and right IN termi-nals on the subwoofer.Then, connect loudspeakercable from left and right loud-speaker OUT on the subwooferto the corresponding input ter-minals on the front left and rightloudspeakers.Connect the remaining loud-speakers directly to the receiv-er. In the surround processorset-up menu, the Left/Rightfront speakers must beselected as "Large". All otherloudspeakers must be selectedas small.
