15TUNER SECTION- Press the FM/AM SELECTOR on thefront panel.- Three different ways can be selectedfor tuning.A. SEARCH TUNINGIf signals are strong and there is nointerference, quick auto searchtuning is possible.1. Press the SEARCH selector sothat the indicator, SEARCH lightsup.2. Press the TUNING button (DOWNor UP) to tune. Tuning will startautomatically and stop at a broad-cast station frequency with suffi-cient signal strength.B. MANUAL TUNINGAuto tuning may be impossible if thestation signal is weak. If so, use man-ual searching.1. Press the SEARCH selector so thatthe indicator SEARCH goes off.2. Press the TUNING button (DOWNor UP) to tune. The frequency willchange rapidly if the TUNINGbutton is kept pressed. Release itslightly before reaching the desiredfrequency, and press it intermittentlyuntil the desired frequency isreached.C. PRESET TUNINGSTATIONSPRESET buttons can be used toselect any desired station which hasbeen preset. To preset a station inmemory:1. Tune to the station to be memorized.2. Press the MEMORY button andpress the desired preset station but-ton while the memory indicator blinks(it will blink for about 4 seconds). Torecall the preset station, press thedesired PRESET STATION buttons. Ifpressing only one numeral, there willbe a 4-second delay until the presetis recalled.AMPLIFIER SECTION1. Set the VOLUME CONTROL to theextreme counterclockwise position.2. Turn the power on.3. Select the desired input function.4. Play the input source.5. Turn the VOLUME clockwise untilyou reach the desired sound level.TAPE RECORDING1. Insert a blank tape in a cassettedeck (TAPE 1 or TAPE 2).2. Select the desired input function.3. Set the cassette deck to recordingmode.4. Play the input source. Recording willstart.TAPE DUBBING1. Insert a blank tape in cassette deck 2(TAPE 2).2. Insert a recorded tape in cassettedeck 1 (TAPE 1).3. Select the input function of TAPE 2MON to monitor the sound (see #10on page 8).4. Set cassette deck 2 to recordingmode.5. Set cassette deck 1 to playbackmode. Dubbing will start. NOTE: Ifyou press the TEST TONE buttonduring TAPE RECORDING or TAPEDUBBING, the audio signal is notrecorded.PROTECTION CIRCUITSThis receiver has special protectioncircuits.n The thermal overload protectioncircuit automatically turns off thepower if it begins to overheat.n The overdrive protection circuitautomatically turns off the power ifthe speaker terminals are shorted.n The short protection circuit auto-matically turns off the power if thespeaker terminals are shorted.If the receiver shuts off, check to besure that the ventilation holes on the topof the receiver are clear of obstructions,and check the speaker connectionsand impedance.Operation |
