Theheadrests can be returned to the spa when the sanitizer reading dropsbelow 4 ppm.11.4 Cleaning The Spa InteriorTo preserve the sheen of your spa’s surface, it is crucial that you avoidusing abrasive cleaners or cleaners which have adverse chemical effecton the surface. If you are not certain as to the suitability of a particularcleanser, consult your authorized Jacuzzi dealer. Regardless of thecleanser used, use extreme care to assure that no soap residue is left onthe surface. This could cause severe sudsing when the spa is refilled.11.5 Maintaining the CoverUsing the Jacuzzi insulating spa cover anytime the spa is not in use willsignificantly reduce your operating costs, heat-up time and maintenancerequirements. To prolong the life of the cover, handle it with care andclean it regularly using mild soap and water. Periodic treatments with aspecial conditioner developed for Jacuzzi spa covers will help protectagainst deterioration caused by UV rays from the sun.Never allow anyone to stand or sit on the cover, and avoid dragging itacross rough surfaces.11.6 Maintaining The Synthetic CabinetYour new spa’s synthetic cabinet requires little or no maintenance ofany kind. To clean, simply wipe cabinet with a clean towel and mild soapsolution.CAUTION: Never spray cabinet with a garden hose for any rea-son since this action may induce an electrical short in the spa’selectrical equipment.11.7 WinterizingYour Jacuzzi spa is designed to automatically protect itself against freez-ing when operating properly. During periods of severe freezing tempera-tures, you should check periodically to be certain that the electrical sup-ply to the spa has not been interrupted.
