Scan FunctionsSelect any AM or FM band and press scan button (11) to listen to a fewseconds of each radio station. The display will flash and the radio willautomatically scan to the next higher station, play that station for a fewseconds, then scan to the next higher station. To stop scanning andcontinue listening to the current station, press scan button a second time.Note: the radio remains in scan mode until the scan button is pressed asecond time or one of the tune buttons is pressed.I. Preset Scan FunctionPress the auto button (16) once to enter scan mode. The next higherpreset station will be selected and be played for 3 seconds while thepreset number on the display flashes. If you wish to remain on thisstation, press the auto button (16) a second time. Note: preset scanningcontinues unless you press the auto button (16) or either preset button(P1-P6) to cancel.J. Local/Distance FunctionPress the local button (10) to toggle between local and distant stationmode. When “LOCAL” is displayed, only the strongest stations willbe selected during seek or scan. Note: in the default mode (noLOCAL display), all usable stations will be selected during seek or scan.K. Changing Tuner Frequency from US to EuropeYour unit is factory set to US tuning frequency steps. To switch toEurope tuning steps, use the switch on the bottom of the unit. With theunit disconnected from the power source, use a screwdriver to slidethe switch to the desired position. Note: power must be removedfrom the radio, or the reset switch must be pressed before the newfrequency mode is activated.19.3 CD Player OperationA. Insert, Play, and Eject a CDOpen the front panel and insert a CD into the slot with the CD labelfacing up. The CD will be drawn inside by the motorized mechanism.Close the front panel. The “DISC IN” symbol on the display indicatesthat a CD is in the drive.
