The laser dot is used as a guideor stylus, allowing you to stitch the same pattern onto aquilt that is being traced with the laser dot.Laser Operation and UseThere is not a separate on/off switch for the laser. Poweris supplied to the laser when it is plugged into theJanome Quilt Maker Pro 18. Be sure the laser is attachedto the Janome Quilt Maker Pro 18 and pointed downwardtoward the table before connecting it to the port. Neverpoint it in a direction that would project the beam intosomeone’s eyes. If the laser should cease to operate,check to ensure the plug is firmly seated into the JanomeQuilt Maker Pro 18 laser port.CAUTION: Use of controls or adjustments orperformance of procedures other than those specifiedherein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.Laser Focus/Laser Image SizeThis high quality laser is focusable. The laser is focusedby simply grasping the threaded housing surroundingthe lens and turning clockwise or counter-clockwise (seeFigure 10). The laser image can be adjusted bigger orsmaller. The direction of rotation needed is determinedby the distance of the laser from the intended focalplane. Experiment by turning the threaded end toachieve your desired focal size.Clamp AdjustmentThe laser attaches to a mounting post. The post may bevertical or horizontal. The clamp is designed to articulatein any direction by rotating the clamp on the post andpivoting the laser up or down. To make an adjustment,simply loosen the black thumbscrews, position, andretighten.Location of Laser LabelsThe label is attached to the case of the laser andcontains an arrow which indicates the direction the laserlight will shine when energized.
