LEAK TESTINGGENERALAlthough gas connections on the grill are leaktested prior to shipment, a complete gas tightnesscheck must be performed at the installation site.Periodically check the whole system for leaksfollowing the procedures listed below.If the smell of gas is detected at anytime, youshould immediately check the entire system forleaks.BEFORE TESTINGMake sure all packing materials have beenremoved from the grill, including the burner tie-down straps.WARNINGCheck all gas supply fittings for leaks before eachuse. Do not use the grill until all connections havebeen checked and do not leak.Do not smoke while leak testing.Never leak test with an open flame.Make a solution of one part liquid detergent andone part water. You will need a spray bottle, brush,or rag to apply the solution to the fittings. For theinitial leak test, make sure the liquid propanecylinder is full.Only those parts recommended by themanufacturer should be used on the grill.Substitutions will void the warranty.GAS FLOW CHECKEach grill burner is tested and adjusted at thefactory prior to shipment. However, variations in thelocal gas supply may make it necessary to adjustthe burners.Flames should be blue and stable with no yellowtips, excessive noise or lifting.If any of these conditions exist, first check to see ifthe burner is blocked by dirt, debris, spider webs,etc.Always check for leaks after every liquid propanecylinder change.It is handy to keep a spray bottle of soapy waternear the shut-off valve of the gas supply line. Sprayall the fittings.
