2. Turn off the tank valve by turning the controlknob clockwise until it stops.4. Place dust cap on cylinder valve outlet wheneverthe cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of dustcap on the cylinder valve outlet that is provided withthe cylinder valve. Other types of caps or plugs mayresult in leakage of propane.3. Detach the regulator assembly from the tankvalve by turning the quick coupling nutcounterclockwise.LEAK TESTINGGENERALAlthough gas connections on the grill are leak tested priorto shipment, a complete gas tightness check must beperformed at the installation site. Before each use checkthe whole system for leaks following the procedures listedbelow.If the smell of gas is detected at anytime, you shouldimmediately check the entire system for leaks.BEFORE TESTINGMake sure all packing materials have been removed fromthe grill, including the burner tie-down straps.WARNINGCheck all gas supply fittings for leaks before each use.Do not use the grill until all connections have beenchecked and do not leak.Do not smoke while leak testing.Never leak test with an open flame.Make a solution of one part liquid detergent and one partwater. You will need a spray bottle, brush, or rag to applythe solution to the fittings. For the initial leak test, makesure the liquid propane cylinder is full.Error!Only those parts recommended by the manufacturershould be used on the grill. Substitutions will void thewarranty.GAS FLOW CHECKEach grill burner is tested and adjusted at the factoryprior to shipment. However, variations in the local gassupply may make it necessary to adjust the burners.Flames should be blue and stable with no yellow tips,excessive noise or lifting.If any of these conditions exist, first check to see if theburner is blocked by dirt, debris, spider webs, etc. If theburners are clear of foreign objects or debris, pleasecontact customer service at 1-800-554-5799 for furtherassistance.Always check for leaks after every liquid propane cylinderchange.It is handy to keep a spray bottle of soapy water near theshut-off valve of the gas supply line. Spray all the fittings.Bubbles indicate leaks.Disconnected liquid propane cylinders must havethreaded valve plugs tightly installed, and must not bestored in a building, garage or any other enclosed area.WARNINGStorage of an outdoor cooking gas appliance indoor ispermissible only if the cylinder is disconnected andremoved from the outdoor cooking gas appliance.The gas must be turned off at the supply cylinder whenthe unit is not in use.If the appliance is stored indoors, the cylinder must bedisconnected and removed from the appliance. Cylindersmust be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area out ofthe reach of children.WARNINGCylinder must be stored outdoors out of the reach ofchildren and must not be stored in a building, garageor any other enclosed area.TO TEST1. Make sure the control valves are in the “OFF”position, and turn the gas supply “ON”.2. Apply the soap solution to all pipe fittings, from theliquid propane cylinder up to and including theconnections to the burners. Soap bubbles will appearwhere a leak is present.3. If a leak is present, immediately turn off the gassupply and tighten leaky fittings.4. Turn the gas back “ON” and recheck.5. Should the gas continue to leak from any of thefittings, turn off the gas supply and contact customerservice at 1-800-554-5799.6. If it is evident there is excessive abrasion or wear, orthe hose is cut, it must be replace prior to the outdoorcooking gas appliance being put into operation.13
