(All ignitors will spark when any surfaceburner knob is turned on. However, only the selectedburner will light.)HHIIGGHHOOFFFFLLOOWWPilotless IgnitionPilotless ignition eliminates theneed for a constant standingpilot light. Each surface burnerhas a spark ignitor. Use carewhen cleaning around thesurface burner. If the surface burner doesnot light, check if ignitor isbroken, soiled or wet.CAUTION• If flame should go out during a cooking operation, turnthe burner off. If a strong gas odor is detected, open awindow and wait five minutes before relighting theburner.• Be sure all surface controls are set to the OFF positionprior to supplying gas to the cooktop.• NEVER touch cooktop until it has cooled. Food will not cook anyfaster when a higher flame setting isused than needed to maintain a gentleboil. Water boils at the same tempera-ture whether boiling gently or vigorously.Use LOW to simmer foods, keep foodsWwarm and melt chocolate or butter. Some cooking may take place on theLOW setting if the pan is covered. It isWpossible to reduce the heat by rotatingthe knob toward OFF. Be sure flame isstable.HIGHLOWHHIIGGHHOOFFFFLLOOWWHHIIGGHHOOFFFFLLOOWW
