15Replacing V-Belt1. Disconnect the machine from the powersource.2. Release blade tension by turning bladetension hand wheel clockwise.3. Release belt tension by loosening the twohex cap bolts (A, Fig. 19 the pivot bolt is notshown in the photo). Raise the motor andplace a block of wood under the motor totake the tension off the belt.4. Open the lower wheel door and remove hexnut, and washer (B, Fig. 20).5. Remove the wheel (C, Fig. 21). If the lowerwheel does not come off easily you mayneed to use a pulley puller to remove thelower wheel.6. Remove the old belt (D, Fig. 21) andreplace the belt.7. Reinstall the lower wheel and tighten thehex nut.8. Remove the wood block, or support frombelow the motor and adjust the belt tension.See “Adjusting the Belt Tension.”9. Set the blade tension. See “Adjusting BladeTension” on the previous page.10. Check the blade tracking. See “AdjustingBlade Tracking” on the previous page.Adjusting Belt TensionThe belt comes adjusted from the factory. Ifadjustment is needed:1. Disconnect the machine from the powersource.2. Set the belt tension by lightly pressing downon the motor and tightening the hex capscrew (A, Fig. 19 the pivot bolt is not shownin the photo).Note: The weight of the motor should putenough tension on the belt. You just want topush down lightly to take up any slack.
