The machine consists of amachine base onto which is installed a sawhead.Machine BaseThe machine base consists of four panels thatrequire assembly.Saw HeadThe saw head (Figure 1) consists of a drivemotor, gearbox, blade wheels, blade guides andsupports, control panel, blade tensionmechanism, wire brush, and the saw blade.The drive wheel is installed on the output shaftof the gearbox. The driven wheel is located onthe left side of the machine and is mounted on ashaft that is part of the blade tension mechan-ism. The blade tension mechanism is used totighten the saw blade on the blade wheels.Blade tension generally requires adjustment onlyafter the saw blade is changed, but the tensionshould be monitored with the convenient bladetension indicator.Figure 1Work StopA work stop is provided with the machine toallow cutting multiple pieces of identical length(refer to Figure 5). The stop consists of a set rodonto which is installed a distance set bracket,stop rod assembly and two lock handles. Therod is installed in a bore in the front of the sawbed. The distance set bracket is moved in or outon the set rod to establish the length of theworkpiece and the stop rod can be adjusted toaccommodate workpieces of various widths.Control PanelThe control panel is mounted on the top of thesaw head. Refer to the Controls and Indicatorssection (page 9) for a description of the controls.Switches and fuses required for operation andprotection of the drive motor are inside the box.
