JET 7Setup and AssemblyAny missing parts or damage should be reportedimmediately to your JET ® distributor. Do not use adamaged tool. Read this instruction manualthoroughly for operation, maintenance and safetyinstructions.Box contents:1 Impact wrench1 Operation and parts manual1 Warranty cardOperationThe impact wrench must beproperly lubricated before operation. See“Lubrication” section.Figure 11. Remove protective cap from air inlet (Figure1). If an in-line oiler is not being used, add 4or 5 drops of air tool oil (not included) into theair inlet.2. Blow out air line to remove any dirt ormoisture, then connect air supply hose totool. Set air pressure to 90 psi.IMPORTANT: Connecting a quick-changecoupling directly to the tool is notrecommended, as vibration may cause theconnection to fail. Instead, add a leader hoseand install any quick-change couplingsfarther down the line.3. Push 3/8” drive socket (not included) ontoanvil until it clicks into position.4. Rotate air regulator dial to one of 8 positions.(Regulator settings are for reference onlyand do not indicate specific power settings.)Lowest setting ‘0’ is recommended forsmaller nuts and bolts. Setting ‘8’ provideshighest amount of torque and speed.Make sure nut or boltcan withstand rated torque of impactwrench. To loosen nut or bolt:1. Place socket over nut, and grip tool with bothhands.2. Press left side of throttle lever for reversedirection.Important: If tool cannot loosen nut, DONOT raise air pressure above 90 psi. If tools’air regulator is in low setting, raise settingand retry. If tool’s regulator is already on“8”, do not continue attempts to loosennut with this impact wrench. Use othermethods or tools to loosen nut.3. Release throttle lever to stop impact wrench. To tighten nut or bolt:1. Install nut as far as possible by hand.2. Place socket over nut, and grip tool with bothhands.3. Press right side of throttle lever for forwarddirection.Important: If tool stalls while tightening, DONOT raise air pressure above 90 psi. If tools’air regulator is in low setting, raise settingand retry. If nut will not tighten onmaximum setting, do not continueattempts to tighten nut with this impactwrench. Use other methods or tools totighten nut.4. Release throttle lever to stop impact wrench.NOTE: Do not overtighten. Fasteners with criticaltorque settings should be fully tightened with atorque wrench.
