To adjust, slightly loosen guide rail nuts andslide guide rail left or right as needed.13. Securely tighten all nuts on guide rail.5.9 Storage screwInsert long neck screw with washer (HP7/9, Figure5-2) into threaded hole on back of saw column. Thepush stick and other accessories may be storedupon it.5.10 Dust collectionIt is strongly recommended that a dust collectionsystem (not provided) be connected to the two 4-inch diameter ports on the saw. It will help keep theshop clean, as well as prevent potential healthhazards due to air-borne wood dust. See ourwebsite for a full line of dust collectors.6.0 Electrical connectionsElectrical connections must bemade by a qualified electrician in compliancewith all relevant codes. This machine must beproperly grounded to help prevent electricalshock and possible fatal injury.6.1 GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS1. All Grounded, Cord-connected Tools:This machine must be grounded. In the event of amalfunction or breakdown, grounding provides apath of least resistance for electric current to reducethe risk of electric shock. This tool is equipped withan electric cord having an equipment-groundingconductor and a grounding plug. The plug must beplugged into a matching outlet that is properlyinstalled and grounded in accordance with all localcodes and ordinances.Do not modify the plug provided - if it will not fit theoutlet, have the proper outlet installed by a qualifiedelectrician.Improper connection of the equipment-groundingconductor can result in a risk of electric shock. Theconductor with insulation having an outer surfacethat is green with or without yellow stripes is theequipment-grounding conductor. If repair orreplacement of the electric cord or plug isnecessary, do not connect the equipment-groundingconductor to a live terminal. Before connecting to power source, be sure theswitch is in off position.Check with a qualifiedelectrician or service personnel if the groundinginstructions are not completely understood, or ifin doubt as to whether the tool is properlygrounded. Failure to comply may cause seriousor fatal injury.Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-pronggrounding plugs and 3-pole receptacles that acceptthe tool's plug.Repair or replace damaged or worn cordimmediately.2. Grounded, cord-connected tools intended for useon a supply circuit having a nominal rating less than150 volts:This tool is intended for use on a nominal 115-Vcircuit, and has a grounded plug that looks like theplug illustrated in sketch A in Figure 6-1. Atemporary adaptor that looks like the adaptorillustrated in sketches B and C may be used toconnect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown insketch B if a properly grounded outlet is notavailable. The temporary adaptor should be usedonly until a properly grounded outlet can be installedby a qualified electrician. The green colored rigidear, lug, or the like extending from the adaptor mustbe connected to a permanent ground such as aproperly grounded outlet box cover. Whenever theadaptor is used, it must be held in place by a metalscrew. In Canada, the use of a temporary adaptor is notpermitted by the Canadian Electrical Code, C22.1.3. Grounded, cord-connected tools intended for useon a supply circuit having a nominal rating between150 - 250 volts, inclusive:This tool is intended for use on a circuit that has anoutlet that looks like the one illustrated in D, Figure6-1. The tool is intended to be used with a groundingplug that looks like the plug illustrated in D. Makesure the tool is connected to an outlet having thesame configuration as the plug. No adapter isavailable or should be used with this tool. If the toolmust be reconnected for use on a different type ofelectric circuit, the reconnection should be made byqualified service personnel; and after reconnection, the tool should comply with all local codes andordinances.
