The brake air gap (7) must equal0.3 mm - 0.8 mm when installed, measured 3times at the circumference.Set the electromagnetic brake (Y1) with themounting plateIf the installed brake air gap (7) does not measu-re 0.3 mm - 0.8 mm (0.012 in – 0.032 in), thebrake air gap (7) must be set as follows:– Release three mounting screws (refer to page113, item 3) by using the Allen wrench (2).– Screw the sleeve screws (8) in or out accor-dingly by using the wrench (6).– Tighten the mounting screws (refer to page113, item 3) and measure the brake air gap (7)with the feeler gauge (5) to determine if thespecified gap dimension has been achieved.– Repeat the adjustment process until the brakeair gap (7) has reached the specified gap width.– Remove magnet coil (3) with brake disk (9)from the mounting plate and install in the ma-gnet brake mount on the transmission (refer topage 113, item 7).Note:The brake must securely hold the device ata max. load on a grade of 15%. If the brakeeffect diminishes despite an accurate settingof the magnet brake, the brake disk (9) mustbe replaced and the function of the brakemust be checked.
