– 6 Close the hand spray gun. Turn the spray-pipe that is inclined about45° downward to the left or the right.Note: To prevent damage due to too muchpressure, always position high pressure rayfirst from a greater distance towards objectto be cleaned. Open the water supply. Set the temperature regulator to opera-tions with cold/ hot water. Start the motor with the trigger gunopen according to the operating instruc-tions of the motor manufacturer.Note:The spray lance can be removed to facili-tate the start-up process. Press the lever on the hand spray gun. Set thermostat to "Burner off" position. DANGERScalding danger! Set thermostat to desired working tem-perature. The burner is switched on.ATTENTIONUnsuitable detergents can cause damageto the appliance and to the object to becleaned.– For considerate treatment of the envi-ronment use detergent economically.– Observe the dosage and other instruc-tions provided with these detergents.– Use only those detergents approved bythe manufacturer of the appliance.– Kärcher detergents ensure smoothfunctioning. Please consult us or ask forour catalogue or our detergent informa-tion sheets. Suspend end of suction hose in a con-tainer filled with detergent. Set nozzle to "CHEM". Set dosing value for detergent to thedesired concentration.– Loosen the dirt:Spray detergent economically and let itwork for 1...5 minutes but do not let itdry up.– Remove the dirt:Spray off loosened dirt with the highpressure jet. Set dosing value for detergent to "0". Open the hand spray gun and rinse theappliance for at least 1 minute. Release the lever on the trigger gun.Note: When the lever of the hand spraygun is released, the engine continues to runat zero speed. The water thus circulateswithin the pump and gets heated. When thecylinder head at the pump has reached themaximum permissible tempertaure (80 °C),the therm-valve on the pump opens andlets out the hot water into the open.Cooling can be hastened while using com-pressed water from the water supply pipes: Pull the lever of the hand spray gun for2 - 3 minutes so that the circulating wa-ter cools down the cylinder head. Set dosing value for detergent to "0". Open the hand spray gun and rinse theappliance for at least 1 minute. DANGERDanger of scalding by hot water.
