English 15Illustrations on Page 2IllustrationMount loose parts delivered with applianceprior to start-up.According to the applicable regula-tions, the appliance must never beused on the drinking water supplywithout a system separator. Use asuitable system separator manufactured byKÄRCHER; or, as an alternative, a systemseparator as per EN 12729 Type BA. Waterflowing through a system separator is consid-ered non-drinkable.Note: Impurities in the water can damage thehigh-pressure pump and accessories. Forprotection, the use of the KÄRCHER water fil-ter (optional accessory, order no. 4.730-059)is recommended.Observe regulations of water supplier. For connection values, see type plate/techni-cal data.! Use a fibre-reinforced water hose (not in-cluded) with a standard coupling. (Mini-mum diameter 1/2 inch (13 mm),minimum length 7.5 m).Illustration! Screw the coupling element (supplied) tothe water connection on the appliance.! Push the water supply hose onto the cou-pling unit, then connect it to the water sup-ply.Illustration! Fill fuel tank with heating oil or diesel.m DangerRisk of explosion! Only refill diesel oil or lightfuel oil. Unsuitable fuels, e.g. petrol, are not tobe used.CautionBelow exterior temperatures of 6°C, only Win-ter diesel must be used, as there might beproblems with operating due to the flocking ofdiesel components. The fuel tank must be sufficiently filled, evenduring cold water operation. If the fuel tank isempty, the fuel pump will run dry and be de-stroyed.Illustration! Connect the high pressure hose to thehigh pressure connection of the appli-ance.Illustration! Push the spray lance into the trigger gunand fasten it by turning it through 90°.Illustration! Completely open the water tap.Illustration! Insert the mains plug into the socket.Important instruction: Black water can buildup in the heating coil if the appliance is notused for extended periods of time. Therefore,we recommend rinsing the appliance firstwithout the spray lance attached prior to star-tup, until clear water is emitted from the handspray gun. For this, turn the appliance on us-ing the appliance switch. Discharge the waterfrom the rinsing process into the public sewersystem.n DangerThe trigger gun is subjected to a recoil forcewhen the water jet is discharged. Make surethat you have a firm footing and are also hold-ing the trigger gun and spray lance firmly.CautionDry runs lasting longer than two minutes leadto damages to the high pressure pump. If theappliance does not build up pressure withintwo minutes, switch it off and proceed as in-structed in the Chapter "Help with faults".Illustration! Turn on the appliance “I/ON”.Illustration! For hot water operation, also switch onthe appliance switch for burner operation.Important instruction: If there is air inthe fuel line (with new appliances or afteroperating with an empty tank), it can takeup to 5 minutes until the burner starts.Illustration!
