Page614Recording a Song¡ Velocity ModifyVelocity refers to how hard a key is struck, which translates into the dynamics of how loud the produced soundis.A note’s Velocity is a numerical value from 1-127. When editing the note Velocities in your recording, you canchange them within a +/-100 range of their original values.TRACK : Selects the track in which you want toadjust Velocity.START BAR : Selects the bar where the datayou want to adjust starts.END BAR : Selects the bar where the data youwant to adjust ends.MODIFY : Adjusts Velocity from -100 to +100 oftheir current values.BACK : Takes you to the Advanced Recorder menu.UNDO : Undoes the Velocity adjustment. This option is not always available.EXEC : Proceeds with adjusting the Velocity values.¡ Clock MoveIn the Resolution section of this manual we learned that the CP Advanced recorder divides each beat in a bar into96 clock beats, also expressed as a quarter note. Therefore there are 48 clocks per eighth note, and 24 clocks persixteenth note and so on. This relationship holds true regardless of the song’s tempo. On the CP, you can shift the timing of all notes in a track by shifting the entire track ahead (negative values) orbehind (positive values) the beat by a certain clock value. Clock move is useful for adjusting the overall timing of atrack. For example, if a certain sound you recorded responds slowly and sounds behind the beat, you could shiftthe timing of the notes ahead of the beat to compensate for the sounds slow response and make its timing feelmore natural.TRACK : Selects the track that you wish to move.Choose from 1-16.CLOCK : Sets how many clocks you wishto move the track. Choose from –999 to+999.BACK : Takes you to the Advanced Recorder menu.UNDO : Undoes the clock move. This option is not always available.EXEC : Proceeds with applying the clock move.
