If not avoided, it will result in personal harm orfatal injury.5.5 Warning and notice signsThe following warning and notice signs can be found onthe product:Read and observe the operating instructions!These markings must always be legible. They must not becovered, obscured, painted over, or removed.5.6 Emergency instructionsIn the event of an emergency, immediately interrupt thefollowing:• The power supply• The flow of compressed airFurther measures are described in the operatinginstructions or in the documentation of other peripheraldevices.5.7 Operation safetyPlease study these operation safety instructions andrespect them when installing, operating, and servicingthe machine.The welding arc and spatterThe welding arc harms unprotected eyes. Be careful alsowith reflecting flashes from the arc. The welding arc andspatter burn unprotected skin. Wear safety gloves andprotective clothing.Danger of fire or explosionPay attention to fire safety regulations. Remove flammableor explosive materials from the welding location. Alwaysreserve sufficient fire-fighting equipment at the weldinglocation. Be prepared for hazards in special welding jobs –for example, the danger of fire or explosion in welding ofcontainer-type work pieces.Fire can break out from sparks even several hours afterthe welding is completed!CablesAlways check the cables before operating the equipment.Replace damaged cables without delay.Damaged cables may cause injury or start a fire. Connectioncables must not be compressed or make contact withsharp edges or hot work pieces.The welding power circuitIsolate yourself by using proper protective clothing, anddo not wear wet clothing. Never work on a wet surface oruse damaged cables. Do not place the MIG gun or weldingcables on the welding machine or on other electricequipment. Do not press the MIG gun’s switch if the gun isnot directed towards a work piece.Welding fumesMake sure that there is sufficient ventilation duringwelding. Take special safety precautions when weldingmetals that contain lead, cadmium, zinc, mercury, orberyllium.
