2Safety precautionsTake the following precautions toprevent fire and avoid personalinjury :• When extending the battery cable, orground cable, use 5mm2 (AWG10) orlarger automotive grade cable to avoidcable deterioration or damage to thecovering.• Check that no metal objects (coins, tools,etc.) are left inside the unit to avoid shortcircuits.• If you smell or see smoke, turn thepower off immediately and consult yourKenwood dealer.• Do not touch the unit during use becausethe surface of the unit becomes hot andmay cause burns if touched.Take the following precautions tokeep the unit in proper workingorder.• Be sure the unit is connected to a 12VDC power supply with a negative groundconnection.• Do not open the top or bottom cover.• Do not install the unit in places it isexposed to direct sunlight, high heat orhumidity, water may splash over it, ordust exists.If you have difficulty in installing this unitin your vehicle, contact your Kenwooddealer.Cleaning the unitIf the surface is dirty, wipe it clean with asilicon cloth or soft dry cloth with thepower off.Do not use hard cloths or paint thinner,alcohol, or other volatile solvents.
