(page 3)WarningThe unit can only be installed in a car witha 12 V DC power supply, negative ground.If you connect the ignition wire (red) andthe battery wire (yellow) to the car chassis(ground), you may cause a short circuit,that in turn may start a fire. Always connectthose wires to the power source runningthrough the fuse box.Disconnect the battery's negative terminaland make all electrical connections beforeinstalling the unit.Insulate unconnected wires with vinyl tapeor other similar material. If no connectionsare made, do not let the wire come outfrom the tab to prevent short circuit.Be sure to ground this unit to the car'schassis again after installation.CautionIf your car's ignition does not have an ACCposition, connect the ignition wires to apower source that can be turned on andoff with the ignition key. If you connectthe ignition wire to a power source witha constant voltage supply, as with batterywires, the battery may die.Do not use your own screws. Use only thescrews provided.Install this unit in the console of yourvehicle. Make sure the faceplate will not hitthe lid of the console (if any) when closingand opening.After the unit is installed, check whetherthe brake lamps, blinkers, wipers, etc. onthe car are working properly.Mount the unit so that the mounting angleis 30° or less.If the fuse blows, first make sure the wiresare not touching to cause a short circuit,then replace the old fuse with one that hasthe same rating.Connect the speaker wires correctly to theterminals to which they correspond. Theunit may be damaged or fail to work if youshare the · wires or ground them to anymetal part in the car.When only two speakers are beingconnected to the system, connect theconnectors either to both the front outputterminals or to both the rear outputterminals (do not mix front and rear).Do not touch the metal part of this unitduring and shortly after the use of theunit. Metal part such as the heat sink andenclosure become hot.Mounting and wiring this product requiresskills and experience. For safety's sake, leavethis work to professionals.If you experience problems duringinstallation, consult your Kenwood dealer.
