English | 3Before use2WARNINGTo prevent injury or fire, take thefollowing precautions:To prevent a short circuit, never put or leaveany metallic objects (such as coins or metaltools) inside the unit.How to reset your unitIf this unit or theconnected unit(auto disc changer,etc.) fails to operateproperly, pressthe Reset button.The unit returns tofactory settings when the Reset button ispressed.Cleaning the UnitIf the faceplate of this unit is stained, wipe itwith a clean soft dry cloth such as a siliconcloth.If the faceplate is stained badly, wipe thestain off with a cloth moistened with aneutral cleaner, then wipe it again with aclean soft dry cloth.Applying spray cleaner directly to the unitmay affect its mechanical parts. Wipingthe faceplate with a hard cloth or using avolatile liquid such as thinner or alcoholmay scratch the surface or erase characters.Unit and Faceplate Terminals• To prevent deterioration, do not touch theterminals of the unit and faceplate withyour fingers.• If the terminals on the unit or faceplateget dirty, wipe them with a clean softdry cloth.Lens FoggingWhen you turn on the car heater in coldweather, dew or condensation may formon the lens in the CD player of the unit.Called lens fogging, this condensation onthe lens may not allow CDs to play. In sucha situation, remove the disc and wait forthe condensation to evaporate. If the unitstill does not operate normally after a while,consult your Kenwood dealer.Notes• If you experience problems duringinstallation, consult your Kenwood dealer.• When you purchase optional accessories,check with your Kenwood dealer to makesure that they work with your model andin your area.• Characters that conform to ISO 8859-1can be displayed.• Characters that conform to ISO 8859-5 orISO 8859-1 can be displayed.
