Otherwise it may fly out ofplace during collisions and other jolts.• To prevent short circuits, never put or leaveany metallic objects (e.g., coins or metaltools) inside the unit.• If the unit starts to emit smoke or strangesmells, turn off the power immediately andconsult your Kenwood dealer.• Be careful not to drop the unit or subject it tostrong shock.To prevent damage to the machine,take the following precautions:• Do not open the top or bottom covers of theunit.• Do not install the unit in a spot exposed todirect sunlight or excessive heat or humidity.Also avoid places with too much dust or thepossibility of water splashing.• During installation, do not use any screwsexcept for the ones provided. The use ofimproper screws might result in damage tothe main unit.• When drilling a hole in the car to fix thebrackets, make sure not to damage the fueltank, brake tube, wiring harnesses, etc. onthe other side.2CAUTION2WARNING• If you experience problems duringinstallation, consult your Kenwood dealer.• If the unit does not seem to be workingright, try pressing the reset button on thecontrol unit first. If that does not solve theproblem, consult your Kenwood dealer.• When the reset button is pressed, the Siriussatellite radio becomes ready to receive afterapproximately 15 seconds.Cleaning the UnitIf the faceplate of this unit is stained, wipe itwith a dry soft cloth such as a silicon cloth.If the faceplate is stained badly, wipe the stainoff with a cloth moistened with neutralcleaner, then wipe neutral detergent off.Applying spray cleaner directly to the unit mayaffect its mechanical parts. Wiping thefaceplate with a hard cloth or using a volatileliquid such as thinner or alcohol may scratchthe surface or erases characters.IMPORTANT INFORMATIONAbout CD players/disc changersconnected to this unit:KENWOOD disc changers/ CD playersreleased in 1998 or later can be connected tothis unit.Note that any KENWOOD disc changers/ CDplayers released in 1997 or earlier and discchangers made by other makers cannot beconnected to this unit.Unsupported connection may result indamage.Setting the "O-N" Switch to the "N" position forthe applicable KENWOOD disc changers/ CDplayers.NOTESafety precautions— 4 — PreviousNext |
